Consumer Dementia Research Network - establishment project

Project Description

The Consumer Dementia Research Network will be a national network of consumers who will provide input into a variety of research and knowledge translation activities in the field of dementia. The network will involve up to 30 active consumers with representatives from urban, suburban and rural and remote communities, as well as CALD and indigenous populations.

Active members of the network will provide consumer input to the DCRC's through:

  1. Advising the DCRC's on consumer priorities for research;
  2. Assisting with communicating findings of research projects; and
  3. Providing advice to researchers on how to improve their interactions with consumers.

The network will also provide consumer input into the National Quality Dementia Care Network. Involvement with the NQDCN may include:

  1. Setting priorities for NQDCN knowledge translation projects;
  2. Commenting on knowledge translation project proposals;
  3. Participating in knowledge translation projects;
  4. Assisting with communicating findings of knowledge translation projects to the community; and
  5. Advising the management of the NQDCN through representation on the Executive Committee.
