Project Description

This study will describe the journey of being a carer of someone with dementia.

It will focus on the lived experience of someone who is, or has been until very recently, living with a person as their primary carer.

The knowledge from this exploration will provide insight into the experiences of carers of people with dementia; inform information and training content and method; inform support services and identify examples along that continuum of caring that indicate resilience, crisis and satisfaction.

The findings from the study will inform the development of 6 x case studies for GP clinical innovation training to be developed, implemented and evaluated. The training is supported by the WADTSC and will form part of their commitment to education for health professionals, specifically General Practitioners.
