ANDI-II-1C Taking research tools into clinical Practice: Image similarity metrics

Project Description

In order to make a database such as ANDI useful to the clinical community it must have tools that can provide data to help answer common questions from clinical practice.

A typical question here is "find the closest five subjects in the database that best match this novel patient". The patient may well have multiple factors that are leading to dementia and as such a comparison of this individual to a number of dementia sub-type models may well not elucidate any further information than is currently known given the likelihood of differential diagnosis.

New tools are needed in order to perform such data mining on large repositories of imaging data.
