Project Description

This study aims to investigate the incidence, indications and outcomes of using assisted feeding (via gastrostomy tube) in people with dementia. A retrospective cohort study design will be employed that uses de-identified data from two computerised administrative databases that have been probabilistically linked by the Western Australia Data Linkage Unit: the Hospital Morbidity Data System (HMDS) and the Mortality Registrar.
