Kathleen Potter is a rural general practitioner with a strong interest in primary care research. She completed undergraduate training, including a B.Med.Sci, at the University of Otago, NZ in the 1990s.

For the past 10 years Kathleen has been living and working in Australia and in 2008 she gained a PhD from the University of Western Australia.

Kathleen is the recipient of a four-year NHMRC post-doctoral training fellowship awarded in 2011. Her primary research interest is rational prescribing in older people and she is currently working with the WA Centre for Health and Aging on a randomised, controlled “de-prescribing"  pilot trial in people living in residential aged-care facilities of the mid-west region of WA.
