Project Description
This program commenced in 2011 when the Commonwealth Department of Social Services (DSS) funded DCRC-ABC to develop the document: Behaviour Management – A Guide to Good Practice: Managing Behavioural and Psychological Symptoms of Dementia (BPSD).

  • The BPSD Guide App for clinicians is available for free download

  • Distribution of hard copies of A Clinician’s Field Guide to Good Practice to service providers throughout Australia continues

  • Dissemination of hard copies of A Guide for Family Carers: Dealing with Behaviours in People with Dementia is underway via skilled clinicians and appropriate service providers

  • The BPSD Guide in-service packages are available for appropriately skilled clinicians to provide training in the workplace

  • The Care4Dementia App for carers is available for free download

  • BPSD posters for those providing care in remote Aboriginal communities are available

  • The project to develop an eLearning resource highlighting additional considerations for those managing behavioural and psychological symptoms of dementia (BPSD) in lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex (LGBTI) people is currently underway

A collaborative, national knowledge translation (KT) project with Dementia Training Australia (DTA)
supports the implementation and evaluation of all the DCRC resources based on the Guide.
